Wildlife is plentiful on the Ranch. At any given time of the year, one can see mule deer, antelope, bobcats, mountain lions, jackrabbits and rattlesnakes. Most of this part of New Mexico is as it was a hundred years ago.
THE AVERAGE RAINFALL IN THIS PART OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO IS APPROXIMATELY 12” AND 4-5 INCHES OF SNOW. THIS CAN RESULT IN THE LUSCIOUS GREEN PASTURES AS NOTED ABOVE OR WE CAN EXPERIENCE LONG PERIODS WITH NO MOISTURE. DURING THESE TIMES, WE SUPPLEMENT THE HORSES WITH ALFALFA HAY.
